Tim McRae Vice President for Public Affairs
Tim McRae is the California Hydrogen Business Council Vice President for Public Affairs and represents the organization and member priorities on a wide range of state and federal policy issues including energy, environmental, and transportation. In this role, he leads on legislative and regulatory advocacy with state government and agencies, including the Legislature, California Air Resources Board, the California Energy Commission, the California Public Utilities Commission, and the Governor's Office of Business and Economic Development.
Prior to his joining the Council in 2024, he was Senior Vice President for Sustainable Growth at the Silicon Valley Leadership Group, developed commercial wind projects for Aries Power and Industrial, worked on sustainability and energy efficiency for PG&E, advised on climate change policy for the British government, and managed a variety of legislative lobbying, administrative lobbying, and statewide ballot measure campaigns for the Planning and Conservation League in Sacramento.
A graduate of Georgetown University and UC Davis law school, Tim enjoys hiking trails near and far and playing in the Brazilian Samba style percussion group Bloco Do Sol.
