Irvine, CA; October 13, 2009 — The California Hydrogen Business Council (CHBC), has named Karen Farrell as its new Managing Director.
CHBC President Dr. Paul B. Scott noted that, “Ms. Farrell has been an active member of the CHBC for some years, and acknowledged that her selection had much to do with her prior contributions in education as well as consultations related to fuel cell system implementation.”
Prior to the CHBC, Ms. Farrell worked for Mike Binder and Associates, Inc., Fuel Cell Consulting Services and the Northwest Hydrogen Alliance. Ms. Farrell has her BS in Marketing from Kings College, Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania.
“I am delighted and look forward to managing programs and events in alignment with the vision and mission of the CHBC,” commented Ms. Farrell.
The CHBC is a non-profit based organization positioned as the umbrella voice of the California H2 business community. It is built on a vision of a sustainable economy and sustainable environment in large part facilitated through hydrogen related technologies. This vision encompasses large reductions in hydrocarbon imports and greenhouse gas emissions through the widespread adoption of hydrogen as fuel, directly resulting in increased economic growth. The Council communicates the unique benefits of a hydrogen economy by advancing information to organizations in an open process. The quarterly meetings provide opportunities for supporting the efforts of other hydrogen business organizations, communicating with the public, press, government agencies and the legislature on behalf of California hydrogen business interests.
