California Hydrogen Business Council Adds Three to Leadership Team
Katrina Fritz named Executive Director; Teresa Cooke and Mikhael Skvarla to advise on policy
SACRAMENTO – Today, the California Hydrogen Business Council (CHBC), the largest and most diverse industry trade association for hydrogen and fuel cells in the state, formally confirmed the appointment of Katrina Fritz to Executive Director for the organization. In addition, industry veterans Teresa Cooke and Mikhael Skvarla are now advising the CHBC on legislative and regulatory policy. In an already fast-growing industry, this experienced leadership positions the CHBC and California’s hydrogen industry to accelerate that growth.
Fritz joins the CHBC with over twenty years of executive, industry, and consulting experience with companies like Plug Power and UTC Power. “We are so pleased to have Katrina Fritz at the helm of the CHBC. She is well-known and respected for her many years as a leading advocate for hydrogen and fuel cells and for her collaborative approach to building consensus,” said Lauren Skiver, Chair of the CHBC Board of Directors. “CHBC members and the California industry will benefit greatly from the breadth and depth of Katrina’s business and policy knowledge.”
Cooke, a Senior Policy Advisor at Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck, joins as an already highly regarded expert in hydrogen and fuel cell policy. She also currently serves as the Executive Director of the collaborating organization, California Hydrogen Council.
Skvarla joins the CHBC as Government Relations Advisor at the Gualco Group, bringing over fifteen years of experience counseling all sectors of the hydrogen and fuel cell industry in California regulatory and legislative policy.
“With the guidance of Teresa Cooke and Mikhael Skvarla as advisors to the CHBC, the voice of the hydrogen and fuel cell industries will be elevated to a new level,” Katrina Fritz said. “Importantly, they will help align industry priorities to meet California’s ever bolder climate objectives.”
