Summary of Re-Imagining the Energy Ecosystem with Green Hydrogen Webinar
On April 14, the Green Hydrogen Council and Strategen hosted the “Re-Imagining the Energy Ecosystem with Green Hydrogen” webinar, which presented “why green hydrogen should be the backbone of the clean energy transition that is already underway, and why green hydrogen is a ‘super gamechanger’ to achieve multi-sectoral decarbonization.”
GHC founder and CEO, Janice Lin, and Executive Director, Dr. Laura Nelson, provided an overview green hydrogen production methods (electroysis, thermochemical conversion, and steam methane reformation), the various renewable feedstocks each process utilizes, and the sectors that can use green hydrogen. The presenters then presented various green hydrogen projects that are being deployed around the world, and then moving into the details of the the Intermountain Power Project (IPP) in Utah. The IPP will convert a 1800 MW coal-fired plant to a 100% green hydrogen burning power plant that will service LADWP.
For those that attended the 2020 California Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Summit in early March 2020, a similar presentation was provided by Janice. The GHC will publish the webinar recording and slideshow on their website in the next few days. CHBC will include the link to those materials in a future newsletter once available.
