Toyota Motor Sales Becomes Title Sponsor of California Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Summit
Los Angeles, CA – October 3, 2014 – The California Hydrogen Business Council (CHBC) is proud to announce that Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A, Inc. (TMS), one of the first automakers to mass produce fuel cell electric vehicles, is the Title Sponsor of the California Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Summit in Sacramento, CA, October 15-16, 2014.
Nihar Patel, TMS Vice President of North American Business Strategy, will provide a keynote in the CEO session: “Visions of Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Business Leaders” on Wednesday, October 15, 2014.
Toyota has been at the forefront of developing electric drive vehicles, with their commercial fuel cell sedan expected to be introduced to customers in California in mid- 2015.
Mr. Patel commented, “The Toyota fuel cell vehicle is a zero-emission electric-drive, mid-size four-door sedan. It produces sufficient electrical power to spin the electric motor for about 300 miles on a single fill-up which takes three to five minutes. This is a game-changing vehicle, and we plan to bring it to the mass market at a very reasonable price.”
“We strongly welcome Toyota’s leadership in the California fuel cell market and their support of CHBC’s activities and events,” said Jeff Serfass, CHBC Managing Director. “Their pioneering role in offering commercial fuel cell vehicles in the California market will help the State meet its clean transportation and energy goals. This and other solutions will be discussed at the CHBC Summit.”
The two-day Summit is the only U.S. event to cover the hydrogen and fuel cell industry’s key business, political, technology and environmental issues, and is a natural evolution of an expanding industry, taking CHBC’s signature networking events to the next level.
