Hydrogenics Becomes Gold Sponsor of California Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Summit
Los Angeles, CA – September 18, 2013 – The California Hydrogen Business Council (CHBC) is proud to announce Hydrogenics Corporation, a developer and manufacturer of integrated PEM fuel cell systems, as sponsor of the California Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Summit in Sacramento, CA, October 9-10, 2013.
Daryl Wilson, President and CEO of Hydrogenics, will keynote the opening session providing “Energy Storage and Clean Transport: Part of the Same Story” on Wednesday, October 9, 2013.
Mr. Wilson commented, “On site hydrogen production by electrolysis using surplus wind energy that would otherwise be curtailed provides clean and affordable fuel for fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs) and helps bring more fluctuating renewable energy sources into our energy grid. This energy storage system goes hand in hand with the Hydrogen Infrastructure Program that is funded by the California Energy Commission (CEC) with plans to bring the total amount of hydrogen fueling stations to 68 within the next few years.”
Wilson added that “Hydrogenics has been a pioneer in developing hydrogen infrastructure since the early 2000s, having been involved in over 45 hydrogen fueling stations worldwide with 12 in California alone. Our Power-to-Gas and fueling station technologies are an ideal solution that can enable both the electrification of transportation and the addition of fluctuating renewable energy sources in the grid. They are scalable systems that can support various FCEV fleet sizes using compact utility-scale water electrolyzers.”
“We strongly welcome Hydrogenics’ involvement in the California fuel cell market and their support of CHBC’s activities and events,” said Jeff Serfass, CHBC Managing Director. “Their leadership in stationary systems, hydrogen energy storage, and experience in transportation systems and goods movement show their broad portfolio of fuel cell products, corresponding with many of the topics to be discussed at the CHBC Summit.”
The two-day Summit is the only U.S. hydrogen event to cover the industry’s key business, political, technology and environmental issues, and is a natural evolution of an expanding industry, taking CHBC’s signature networking events to the next level.
