FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Air Liquide and Southern California Gas join as new Board representatives
Los Angeles, CA – January 24, 2013 – Today, the California Hydrogen Business Council (CHBC) announced the election and appointment of two new members to its 2013 Board of Directors. New board members are Bob Oesterreich of Air Liquide and Jeffrey Reed of Southern California Gas.
“With the election of the 2013 Board, the CHBC continues to have strong representation of major companies with interests in hydrogen, fuel cells, and energy storage,” said Jeffrey Serfass, CHBC Managing Director. Additionally, members elected two Directors to serve as officers. Robert Bienenfeld (American Honda Motor) will now serve as Vice-President, and Larry Stapleton (Ballard Power Systems) as Secretary.
“We are very pleased with the diversity and strength of the new board,” said Mark Abramowitz, CHBC President. “Over the past year, the CHBC’s industry presence in California has grown and we start 2013 with strong leadership from many different facets of the hydrogen energy industry.”
Reelected members to the Board include Mark Abramowitz (Community Environmental Services) in his third year as President, and Andy Marsh (Plug Power). In recognition of his outstanding contributions to the organization and the industry, the newly elected Board appointed founding member Hank Wedaa (Valley Environmental Associates) as Director Emeritus.
The Board also approved a new membership structure, increasing the value of Platinum membership by providing a seat on the Board of Directors. This ensures that those who are investing the most also have a strong voice in the direction and development of the association.
