Green Job Creation in the Fuel Cell Industry: The Next Ten Years
Fuel Cell Today has just released their new, comprehensive 2010 Industry Review. This webinar will give you an insider’s look into the third and fourth sections of their in depth analysis, “Sustainability” and “Job Creation Potential,” which provides data on CO2 and regulated pollution reduction as well as job creation potential out to 2019. Synopsis: In addition to their role in improving the efficiency of energy generation, reducing CO2 and regulated emissions, and reducing noise in a variety of applications, fuel cells can be seen as a major contributor to economic well-being. In a continuingly uncertain economic climate, fuel cells may offer a stimulus to the economies of various countries, and the potential for significant job creation.
Fuel Cell Today (FCT) believes that the global fuel cell industry can be conservatively estimated to create around 700,000 jobs in manufacturing over the next decade, based on our projections of unit shipments over this period. Jobs will be created across the fuel cell supply chain, principally in fuel cell manufacturing, but also in installation and maintenance, with over a million total jobs when the wider supply chain is considered. There will be important geographical differences in job creation, with Asia dominating in terms of manufacturing and the key adopter regions being the locations for installation and maintenance jobs.
