Andreas Truckenbrodt Treasurer
Dr. Andreas Truckenbrodt is a Consultant for Clean Energy Transportation, Board Member of Loop Energy and President/CEO for the Canadian Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Association. He is the former Chief Executive Officer for the Automotive Fuel Cell Cooperation (AFCC), a Joint Venture of Daimler AG and Ford Motor Company, based in Vancouver/Canada.
Dr. Truckenbrodt brings more than 15 years experience in the electric drive and fuel cell industry and 30 years in the transportation sector. He has been instrumental in collaborating with organizations around the world to promote the commercialization of electric vehicles. From 2008 through 2014, he was responsible for Daimler’s and Ford’s fuel cell development as CEO of AFCC. From 2005 through 2007, he was leading Daimler’s and Chrysler’s Hybrid Development Center in Troy/Michigan, in cooperation with General Motors and BMW AG. Before that, he was responsible for DaimlerChrysler’s Center for Fuel Cell and Alternative Powertrain Vehicles and had worked with fuel cell supplier Ballard Power Systems. In these functions, he was responsible for the development and manufacturing of electric powertrains for passenger cars, delivery vans and transit buses. He was also driving the market strategies and respective communication and outreach activities.
Previously, Dr. Truckenbrodt held various positions in the automotive and aeroengine industry, among others with BMW, BMW Rolls-Royce, Daewoo and DaimlerChrysler. He was also the Chairman of the California Fuel Cell Partnership and the Chairman of the Canadian Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Association.
Dr. Truckenbrodt holds a degree in Aeronautics and Aerospace Engineering from the Technical University of Munich, Germany, and received his PhD in Mechanics and Control Systems in 1981.
