Loyola Marymount University has hosted LMU Business Exchange events on the Westchester campus in Los Angeles since 2004, with the goal of attracting local business professionals to help them become more familiar with LMU’s great programs. A key feature of the LMU Business Exchange (LMUBX) is to allow participants to engage in “hot topic” conversations in a group setting. The groups then pose crafted questions to speakers/panelists for discussion. The most recent (LMUBX) event took place in February 2015 and attracted an audience of around 60 professionals. A key benefit of attending a LMUBX event is the ability to network with like-minded business leaders and invited special-topic experts in a supportive, fertile, and confidential setting featuring a rich exchange of ideas, feedback and valuable resource contacts.

The focus of this event is on the ability of hydrogen and fuel cells to help move businesses forward today. Speakers will be from hydrogen and fuel cell sectors covering material handling (forklifts), goods movement, stationary power generation, energy storage, and transportation. The speakers will talk about the success of real world applications and projects where hydrogen and fuel cells worked hand-in-hand with business efficiencies to achieve positive results. The result of this event is a higher level of understanding among local professionals who currently lack awareness of the hydrogen and fuel cell industry and the benefits for their businesses.

The target audience is high-level decision makers and executives from local businesses in the Los Angeles area. Their mindset is to look for alternative energy applications to be used within their organizations and make connections within the hydrogen industry. “Silicon Beach” is just below the bluff of LMU where there is fertile ground for technology-oriented professionals to come learn about hydrogen and fuel cells. Participants will be charged $25 for attendance to cover parking and refreshments.
